Biographical Sketch
Jay has over 30 years experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry within the academic, public and private sectors. Prior to joining the IT faculty at the DATC, Jay has held key IT and corporate management positions in several industry-leading private and publicly-held companies. While Chief Technology Officer for Ogden City, the City was named the #1 Digital City in the US (in its population category) by the National League of Cities and the Center for Digital Government in 2004 and 2006; the City was unranked prior and never dropped below 3rd under Jay’s leadership. As an entrepreneur he has founded several technology companies; as well as, serving as the Senior Partner responsible for the technical portfolio and business turn around
management with a prominent inter-mountain venture capital firm.
Throughout his career, Jay has been a frequent speaker and panelist at leading IT conferences, tradeshows, workshops, in addition to being the author of several books, whitepapers, and articles covering a wide range of data, systems infrastructure, telecommunications, and networking topics.
